Located at the Sea World, Nanshan International Cultural Exchange & Service Center is the largest cultural exchange platform in Shenzhen, which was founded in January 2019.As a government-backed center, our vision is to build a community venue full of Chinese and foreigners supporting each other to thrive in Shenzhen. In addition, Nanshan International Cultural Exchange & Service Center will inform foreigners about Chinese laws and regulations through legal sessions or the online platform and solve disputes that involve foreigners. Furthermore, it provides some translation services for government staff to bridge the gap between government and foreigners.

China Merchants Group Museum displays nearly 400 pieces of cultural artifacts and relics, including the Founding Memorials by Li Hongzhang, the Invitations to Shareholders, the first Articles of Association, China Merchants Stocks, the Dragon Seal, the Cao Yun (water transport of grain to the capital) documents, the Bureau’s Anti-Japanese Ship Remnants, The Book of Living and Dying, a Hong Kong map sketched by Chairman Li Xiannian, who approved the establishment of the Shekou Industrial Zone, and the "Sea World" inscription by Deng Xiaoping, all of which represent the Merchants Bureau’s footprints of 140 years of ups and downs, and reflect the struggles of national industrial and commercial enterprises for more than a century. ?Nantou Ancient City Museum
The museum is located in the ancient city of Nantou, and is a cultural relic protection unit in China’s southern Guangdong province. Nantou Ancient City used to serve as the administrative center for many past dynasties in the Lingnan coastal regions, a coastal defense fort, and a distribution center for foreign trade and maritime traffic. With a history of more than 1,730 years, the museum was used as Bao’an county people’s government office building in 1950. The museum is divided into indoor and outdoor exhibition areas: the indoor exhibition hall introduces the general history of Shenzhen in a chronological timeline from the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420) to the founding of New China in 1949; the outdoor exhibition hall mainly displays archaeological excavations of artifacts and relics, ruins and ancient buildings located around the museum, and within the Nantou village area.

?Chiwan Tianhou Museum
Chiwan Tianhou Museum, also known as the Chiwan Tianhou Palace, lies at the foothills of the Small Nanshan Mountain in Shenzhen. Nestled in front of the mountain and adjacent to the sea, the museum area is surrounded by beautiful and heavenly scenery. Its establishment can be traced back to the Song Dynasty, and it was renovated frequently during the Ming and the Qing Dynasties and became the most important Tianhou temple along the coastal area. Every envoy of the presiding loyal court would stop by to pray for blessings when visiting the south eastern countries. During the early years of the Yongle Emperor, Zhenghe, the eunuch of the royal court, commanded expeditionary voyages throughout western seas, and created the Silk Road on the sea. Chiwan Tianhou Palace, as a critical stop of the Silk Road, is one of the only three Tianhou Temples built under the imperial order still stand.

Nanshan Museum is a comprehensive museum specializing in local history and highlighting artistic features. It undertakes the research of history and humanity of Nanshan as well as the collection of cultural relics unearthed in Nanshan and historical remains of ancient Maritime Silk Road and history of Guangfu region. The permanent exhibition is “The Story of Nanshan”, which is separated into three exhibition halls: Ancient Nanshan, Modern Nanshan and Nanshan’s Reform and Opening Up History. There are four thematic exhibition halls, which cover an area of 3,200 square meters. The museum is able to undertake high-level and high-demanding historical relics exhibitions as well as contemporary art exhibitions of specialized museums at home and abroad.

?Nanshan Watch and Jadeite Museum
Nanshan Watch and Jadeite Museum is the first museum featuring jadeite and modern watch in China. Covering an area of 2,500 square meters, the museum consists of a total of four floors: General Hall on the first floor, Jadeite exhibition hall on the second and third floors, and watch collection room on the fourth floor. It is an important site in Nanshan District which enhances the overall cultural atmosphere.

?Shenzhen Nanshan Law Culture Museum
Located in the trial court building of Shenzhen Nanshan District People’s Court, opened in April 2011, the museum is the first professional law culture museum in China. It covers an area of nearly 1,000 square meters and is formally established with the approval of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It is known as the demonstration base of law culture in Shenzhen.

Located in the Midwestern area of Nanshan sub-district neighborhood, Beitou community is now a modern, urban mixture that was once a village in history. The OCT Art & Design Gallery is China’s first gallery in modern and innovative design, with a total of 2,000 square meters of its 3,000 square meters floor space designated with temperature controlled exhibition halls and archives. The Gallery is dedicated to encourage and develop vanguard design. It is involved with a variety of design industries such as, graphic and space design, product and fashion design, digital and animation design and targets many other dynamic and contemporary arts. ?He Xiangning Art Museum
He Xiangning Art Museum collects, displays and examines the works of watercolorist He Xiangning, a renowned artist-turned-social activist and national leader. The plain and quaint museum provides comprehensive services for artists, connoisseurs and collectors. The museum often organizes activities such as lectures, seminars, and on-site creations. It is the first national gallery named after an individual, and also the second national modern museum after The National Art Museum of China. As China's second national modern art museum after the National Art Gallery of China, the galleries at He Xiangning Art Museum have shifting exhibits mainly of avant-garde and modern Chinese art styles. Some of China's best-known painters regularly exhibit here.

Founded in 1994, Nanshan Library is one of the cultural landmarks of Nanshan District, open every single day of the year. It covers an area of 13,728 square meters. It has a construction area of 18,770 square meters, and houses 600,000 books and has more than 1,000 seats. Since opening in March 1997, it has established a total of eight branches directly managed by the library and which have spread to the industrial zone and the near-by communities.It has comprehensive reading rooms, children's reading rooms, parent-child reading rooms, and some other dedicated reading rooms to meet the needs of different readers. Moreover, Nanshan Library holds activities for patrons including public lectures. It has also set up a public consultation room, which provides legal advice and psychological consultation for patrons.

As the first library with the dual function of being both a public library and an academic library, the Shenzhen Library of Science and Technology is shared by the graduate schools of four universities: Peking University, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology and Nankai University, and is open for use by local residents as well. Its mission, “All for the people, for all the people,” aims to serve the local students and faculty members, corporate researchers, and knowledge-seeking residents. Located at the heart of the campus, the Shenzhen Library of Science and Technology (also called the University Town Library) possesses the beauty of the crouching tiger and hidden dragon. As the first library to combine the academia with the public, the University Town Library was designed to accommodate 1.5 million books, 3,000 seats, 1,700 data ports, and 8,000 visitors per day.
